Once you leave it too long moisture starts to get in and corrosion starts. Also watch parts wear and there’s dust inside the watch from that. I then notice dust inside the case on the front dial of my explorer - circled below right above the 8 o clock hour marker. It's something once you see you can't unsee - like an itch you can't scratch.
