It has the same consistency of the L’Oreal Colour Riche Shine lipsticks (L’Oreal owns YSL). I gave that product. The YSL is like a oil/gloss hybrid I would say. Nothing waxy about it. I would say hands down this is the best stain I've used because the oil leaves your lips soft where most stains dry you out.
YSL’s latest in lips is the new Volupté Tint-In-Oil ( for 0.20 fl oz/6 ml) described as a “revolutionary lip color with a lip tint suspended in a deep conditioning oil.” I waited until I was able to see these in store to test them before buying any of these.Coat your lips with this lip tint for a lightweight texture that instantly melts onto lips. It is infused with a blend of four essential oils for deep hydration: apricot kernel oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, and possiflora edulis seed oil.
A sheer, moisturizing lip tint that leaves behind a subtle stain. HOW IT LOOKS/FEELS: The formula is a total hybrid: It's oil-based and shiny like a gloss but leaves a wash of color like a lip .
The YSL Volupte Tint In Oil is a deep conditioning lip oil that also tints the lips. Sephora carries eight shades that go from a pinky nude to an orange. I picked up two shades, Peach Me Love 6 (pinky peach shade) and Pink About Me 8 (soft pink). The oil applies almost clear and changes color after couple of seconds. YSL Volupte Tint in Oil blend uses 5 precious oils: Apricot Kernel Oil; Macadamia Seed Oil; Coriander Fruit Oil; Jojoba Seed Oil; Passion Flower Oil; It certainly feels very nourishing and comfortable on the lips, and it leaves a super shiny finish with no stickiness.
