Interesting, I have that YSL primer and don't find it to be anything special (and I certainly don't think it was wise of them to put in those random gold sparkles). It's just silicone. Have you perhaps given The Ordinary's silicone primer a go? I personally prefer YSL. It blurs and makes my skin (dry skin, early 20’s for reference) glowy.
